Hotel ReservationsSPCP 2022 will be held at Hôtel Le Concorde Québec, the skyscraper landmark hotel of the mythical Grande Allee Avenue in Old Quebec. A discounted reservation rate is available to conference attendees of CAN$189 per night (approximately US$150) from Sunday, September 18 through Monday, September 26, allowing participants to extend stays before and after the conference so you can fully enjoy this wonderful city. Considering the excitement generated by the SPCP 2022 conference, we quickly reached the number of rooms reserved by the Hotel le Concorde for this event. The hotel's deadline for special rates is Friday, August 26 at 11:59 PM, hotel time. Make your reservation here. Call for ProposalsThe Society for Police & Criminal Psychology is a multi-disciplinary group that encourages the scientific study of the criminal justice system and the application of behavioral science knowledge to problems in criminal justice, including law enforcement, judicial, and corrections elements. Consequently, it solicits participation from clinicians, academics, police officers, legal professionals, students, and other professionals involved in the scientific study of the criminal justice system. Our conference is a wonderful opportunity to share ideas, best practices, and cutting-edge research in the fields of police and criminal psychology. This year we especially welcome presentations and posters that address the conference theme: Policing in a changing society. The deadline for submission of proposals for presentations or posters was May 1st, 2022. We are no longer accepting conference proposals. Presentations may be made by professionals/academics only. Professionals/academics may also present posters if they prefer. Students, including undergraduate and graduate students at any level, are encouraged to submit posters. There is an award and honorarium for the best student poster. Experienced practicing professionals who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program may request to do a presentation. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis; please contact the CEU chair, JoAnne Brewster at brewstja@jmu.edu. You do not have to be a current member of SPCP to submit a presentation or poster proposal, however, presenters are expected to join SPCP, pay 2022 dues, and register for the conference shortly after proposal decisions are distributed. When you submit your proposal for SPCP 2022, to ensure our ability to offer APA-approved Continuing Education Units (CEUs), you will be required to enter the following information:
Please carefully prepare and proofread your submission. If accepted, your submission will be used to prepare the conference program. Your submission will not be considered complete unless it includes all the information requested on the form and your CV is received. Timely submission of your proposal and CV would be most appreciated. The deadline for submitting proposals was May 1. We are no longer accepting proposals. More than 120 proposals were submitted! Thank you so much for this tremendous response! Please allow approximately one month for the program committee to make decisions regarding individual proposals.
